    Great Saw
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have been looking for a miter saw for a while now. I purchased this saw afew weeks ago at Home Depot for $450. When I got it home the blade was not square to the table and it took me a bit to get it adjusted. Once square, the saw works well. It stays true and is very easy to use. I am very happy with the saw.

    Almost Perfect
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I have only had this saw about a month. It is probably the best saw on the market in this price range. It is so smooth in every aspect. I like the work lights real well and the digital miter readout is a plus. I really like the bevel adjustment. The bevel adjustment is very easy to use.

I mounted this on a new Bosch T4B gravity stand and am very happy so far. I was leaning toward buying a Bosch saw for quite a while, but when I saw this new model from Milwaukee I knew immediately this was the saw for me.

Now, there are a couple of things Milwaukee should have done better. The right fence is removable but does not slide. If anyone has an explanation for this please post your thoughts. The saw should have came with a vise or clamp of some kind. There is not even an accessory available for this saw. The dust bag attachment should have came with an adapter for a shop vac hose. It is not perfect but compared to others in this price range I don’t think you can go wrong.

    The Total Package
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Right out of the box I knew I was going to like this one. As a union carpenter, I’ve used a few brands through the company I work for. (Rigid, DeWalt, Makita, even Ryobi) And to me it’s not about the good things, it’s about the bad. DeWalts torque and noise level are scary, Rigid is just a massive/hard to maneuver, etc. And then others load their saws with garbage to make it seem like its got all the bells and whistles, to cover up the fact it can’t make a decent cut (eh hem hitachi).

The Milwaukee was shipped in a heavy-duty box with loads of heavy molded styrofoam. It was perfectly square out of the box, and the tables and fences were totally flat. I made sure the blade was tight with a nice tool Milwaukee supplies that clips out of the way right on the saw so no more looking for a 1/2 wrench or channel-locks. And for those wondering, the saw comes with a 60 tooth blade which cuts ok, but most will want to upgrade. The lights are very cool and run independently on their own separate switch located right where your thumb sits so you can easily turn them on/off. The Digital miter display is awesome, and is VERY touchy (in a good way) when you use the fine-adjustment lever. The bevel adjustment is very easy as well. The large paddle makes it easy to grab, and has 3 positions. (locked, detent lock, free motion)

When I first fired it up, it is quiet for a miter saw, and the slow start feature is great. Everything moves smoothly, and the blade guard is clear plastic which is nice. When letting go after a cut, the saw does jump a little, but the e-brake stops the blade after 3-5 seconds. The saw is light-weight and has 3-4 nice handles to grab/pick it up by.

So in conclusion, this is really a great saw with some very helpful/functional features. It is well-built (even the power cord seems really high quality), but yet it is still fairly lightweight. My only 2 complaints are 1) that the saw jumps a bit after releasing the trigger, and 2) the right fence for some reason doesn’t slide, but is only removable. Neither of those reasons make me regret buying this saw, or dropping it to a 4 star rating.

    Awesome saw
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have not been compelled to write a review before but this saw is the best saw on the market – hands down. I’ve had the other “best-in-breed” saws, Bosch & DeWalt – no contest….buy it.

    It Rocks!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Very nice saw. I don’t need lasers, that’s a gimmick IMO, but I do wish it came with clamps. I seldom use them, but every once in a while… So over all a very good saw, dust is pretty well managed. It’s easy to adjust and set up. It has nice handles on it if you need to move it, it has integrated lights (no light fixtures hanging over the side in the way), the standard blade is OK, it has a brake and the power seems to be pretty good. I’m just a homeowner, but I use it regularly as it seems my home constantly needs repair and the kids want a tree house now. It is a pleasure to use and has made an excellent addition to my tool arsenal. I like Milwaukee as a brand and this saw meets my high expectations.

    Blown away
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
First step was to make a base out of plywood and mount this magic beast on my portable tool stand. Bolted it down and fired it up.

I have never written a review on any type of power saw where my first complaint was the stock blade that shipped with the unit. Boy was I in for a surprise with Milwaukee. Blade cut a heavy piece of oak like cheese and the finish was almost good enough for the fine work I need to do. The blade will get replaced with a thin kerf 100 tooth when I start cutting exotic hardwood but for the average job it is excellent.

Next step, have all the tools handy for adjusting the saw. Cut 90 degree 45 bevels and 45 miters then check the angles and see how much of my Sunday is going to be spent wrestling the beast into alignment.

Follow this by putting all the tools away cracking a beer and lighting a cigar. Every cut was dead on true. No complaints about the fence and lack of clamps.. if you are a true craftsman then making up a couple of face boards, stop blocks and grabbing a clamp from your tool rack is all you need to make this baby sing. Having had a beer I am pulling the plug…don’t drink and saw is my motto. Hands down the best miter saw in a crowded field. With 0.1 degree accuracy on the digital read out and all the other bells and whistles and Milwaukee could honestly claim this to be the Rolls Royce of compound miters.

    An Awesome Saw
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I don’t write many reviews on products I purchase (even if they are bad). However, I think this tool is unbelievable. Right out of the box I cut a peice of wood to check both angles for being square…IT was dead on accurate! I then checked the 45 deg miter and the 45 deg bevel…dead on! Needless to say I was amazed…setting the saw back to 90 deg cuts couldnt be easier….This is one tool I would recommend to anyone. I purchased this saw to replace a very “dated” craftsman 10″ miter saw, and after getting over spending the money on this tool, I will never look back. I am needing to replace all the base board in my house and install crown molding….even the blade that shipped with this saw is “good” for this, but I did end up installing a Forrest 80 Tooth blade. It’s weight is another thing worth mentioning…It’s not very heavy at all for its size and definetly weighs less than the cast iron base craftsman 10″ that it’s replacing. When using this saw on a work bench…you can use 3 2×4′s together to shim to the same level as the cutting surface….no more looking for “something” to shim. I am totally impressed with this tool, the micro miter adj helps somewhat more by giving you a reference that’s easy to find if you need to make “trial cuts” Unless you need a sliding miter saw…..you just can’t go wrong with the awesome, repeatable cuts this saw can provide!

    Great Saw. Just fantastic !!!!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I really am in love with this saw.

I ditched my old DeWalt and have no regrets.

The saw was perfectly aligned right out of the box, and the digital Miter gauge is very accurate too.

In general, the saw is very well engineered and very well made.

Only regret – I should have bought the Milwaukee 6955 Sliding compound miter saw.

Otherwise, this saw really is a dream machine and worth every cent !

great saw, wish it had lasers
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I “upgraded” to this saw from a dual laser porter cable twin laser 12″ saw (which doesn’t seem to be in production any longer). This saw is nicer from a precision point of view (the digital angle readout works really really well), but I miss not having the dual lasers showing me both sides of where the kerf will fall. Overall a great saw, that could be an awesome saw if it had at least one laser (and two would make it perfect). I looked at the sliding version of this saw as well, but decided against it based on skepticism about how accurate the slide would stay over time (seemed solid and sturdy in the store, but I wasn’t convinced it would stay accurate for the long term).
